I’ve been a professional writer for more than 25 years. First as a print journalist — writing sports for The Globe and Mail, features for The Medical Post and working the rewrite desk on The London Free Press — then as part of the team that started The Discovery Channel in Canada.
With a PhD in medical history, I decided to combine my experience and education to run my own communications consulting firm. I specialized in the university, research and medical sectors working with quantum physicists, chemists, arthritis researchers and clinicians and educators.
As part of a mid-life career shift, I evolved to writing fiction. Full-time. Plays. Novels. And short stories. I write in the style I enjoy reading: interesting characters; fast-paced plots; and historically accurate settings. I love doing deep dives into research so the details make the stories come alive.
My favourite writers? Paolo Coehlo. Ian Fleming. Charles Dickens. Jennifer Worth.
When I’m not writing, I love to play goal in a women’s ice hockey league or run ragged on the tennis court.
